THE BETHLEHEM WITNESS
Diego Montalvo has been traveling through time for thirty-five years.
Not in a machine. Through consciousness — a discipline he learned from Eduardo Vasquez, seventeenth-generation Guardian of the Toledo nexus, who spent twenty-one years teaching him one lesson at a time in a private study in Spain.
Diego has gone back before. Days. Decades. Never two thousand years, and never to a sacred event. There are reasons no Guardian has attempted it.
On Christmas Eve, he has the calculation. One night. One chance. He intends to stand in Bethlehem on the night Christ was born — not to change anything, not to prove anything. To witness it.
He cannot do it alone. Elena holds the tether. From an apartment in Utah, with an old family medallion in her hand, she is the only thing anchoring him to 2025. If she lets go, he does not come back.
This is a Christmas story with time travel in it. There is no machine — no gears, no dials, no date you can punch in. And no one has gone this far, or to a night this sacred. The calculation may be right. The night is real. But the film asks something else: are there sacred boundaries no one crosses uninvited?
The Bethlehem Witness is the first film of the Sacred Boundaries Series. Written, composed, and produced by Emmett’s own Donald Alan Rekow, who also stars as Diego under the name Don Rico. Directed by Garrett Batty. Filming in Utah this October and November. World premiere: Roy’s Frontier Cinema, Emmett, Idaho — Spring 2027. Before it opens anywhere else on earth.
